The Plymouth-Canton Community School District will offer Intra-District Transfer Requests to resident families for the Kindergarten through eighth grade levels, including sibling priority only for the 2018-2019 school year. Final placement will be determined based on 2018-2019 staffing levels/ratios and the number of applications received for each school/level. If you have completed the Intra-District Transfer form in previous years and wish for your child to remain at their current building, you do not need to complete this form each year. Intra-District Transfers do not apply for children of staff members or to families enrolled in the non-resident, School of Choice Program.
The application deadline is 4:00 pm on Thursday, April 5, 2018. Families will be notified of placement no later than Friday, April 20, 2018. If the number of applications received for a given school/level exceeds the number of available openings, lotteries will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Board Room at the E.J. McClendon Educational Center. Only one request for a transfer school may be submitted per student. A completed application is required for each student and must be submitted by 4:00 pm on Thursday, April 5, 2018.
Sibling preference would apply only if there was available space within the transfer school. The acceptance of an Intra-District Transfer Request does not change the "feeder" path (elementary, middle and high school) to which a student is assigned. After completion of each level, a student will be placed in his/her home school attendance area for the next level.
Students approved for an Intra-District Transfer Assignment are not eligible for transportation by the District. An Intra-District Transfer may be revoked at any time due to behavior or attendance issues.
NOTE: Intra-District Transfers may be rescinded prior to the start of the 2018-19 school year if resident enrollment at the selected school exceeds staffing levels/ratios.
