Information Regarding P-CCS Late Start Days
- School NameCommunications Office
P-CCS will be having two late start days this school year: Thursday, September 27, 2018 and Thursday, February 28, 2019. This late start is to support important professional development opportunities for educators in our district.
Bell Schedules for Late Start Days (September 27, 2018 and February 28, 2019)
ELEMENTARY: 9:48 a.m. - 3:55 p.m.
MIDDLE SCHOOL: 9:04 a.m. - 2:58 p.m.
HIGH SCHOOL: 8:10 a.m. - 2:08 p.m.
For these late start dates, the school day for all kindergarten through 12th grade students will start one hour later than regularly-scheduled times. This late start will cause some modifications to certain district programs and services:
Transportation: All morning busses will pick-up one hour later than the same timeline as a regular day. For example, if your middle school morning pickup time is 7:15 a.m. students will be picked up at 8:15 a.m. on the late start days.
Food & Nutrition: Breakfast services will continue for students at all three levels. P-CEP students will still be offered ‘Second Chance Breakfast.’ Exact lunch times may be altered slightly, but the amount of time students are scheduled for lunch will not change
Middle School Zero Hour: For our middle school students who take 1st hour at P-CEP, language and math classes will still be held, just beginning one hour later. Orchestra classes for middle school students will not be held on the late start days; those students can take their regular middle school bus / route to get to school.
Extended Day: Extended Day coverage will continue as normal for those families enrolled in Thursday morning care. Hours will be 7 a.m. right until the start of the school day at 9:48 a.m.
Young 5s: Because it is a Thursday, Young 5s follows the regular K-5 schedule, so Young 5s students will begin at 9:48 a.m.
Preschool / GSRP: These programs will follow the same regular schedule without a one hour delay.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation with these modifications. We appreciate all you do to support P-CCS and our students!
