Football players and young studentsPlymouth Football Players Mentor Program

This program is geared to help our elementary students connect athletics to the classroom at an early age. Our high school mentors provided academic tutoring as well as guidance on the value of classroom work for aspiring young athletes. In addition, they helped our students to set goals on resolving conflicts, fair play, and provided strategies to handle winning and losing in an appropriate and respectful manner.

The elementary boys were thrilled to practice those skills in a variety of sports related activities we provided every workday. We are amazed at the excitement this program has brought to our students!

This program was developed by Eriksson Literacy Interventionist, Amy Beshears, Principal Kevin Learned and Plymouth Varsity Football coach Brian Lewis. Eighteen high school football playersdonated their time to visit Eriksson multiple days to work with students.
