Lightning Robotics are State Champs!

Lightning Robotics ThumbnailP-CEP's Lightning Robotics (Team 862) with alliance partners won the Michigan State Competition in four days of competition from April 10 -13, 2019.

It was supposed to be the best 2 of 3 matches in the semi-finals and finals. The P-CEP robotics team, due to ties had to go four matches in the semi-finals and then five matches in the finals before they were crowned state champions!

Their alliance partners were
Gems - 4362 from Brighton
Goon Squad -3604 from Brownstown

The team also won the Entrepreneurship Award. This award celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit and recognizes a team which has developed a comprehensive business plan in order to define, manage, and achieve the team’s ongoing objectives. This team displays entrepreneurial enthusiasm as well as demonstrates the vital planning and business skills to ensure a self-sustaining program. To be eligible, the team must bring a Summary Business Plan to each event and be able to explain to the judges how the plan helps to ensure the team’s continued participation in FIRST.

Advisor Jay Obsniuk remarked, "Easily one of the best state championships ever played!"
