Bentley gets an experienced leader in Jan Douglas.
Jan Douglas is homegrown talent. Her more than 15 years experience with the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools means she knows the terrain. But understanding the district isn’t the only element Douglas brings to her new role as the Principal of Bentley Elementary School. She is one of the district’s strongest instructional leaders and that combination made her the perfect choice.
Only hours after accepting the offer to become Bentley’s new principal, Douglas was communicating with teachers and staff and asking for input. She is known for being collaborative and innovative, and she is an avid user of technology to help get the job done.
Douglas spent the last two years of her career as a Student Support Coordinator at Eriksson and Hoben Elementary Schools. She also has served as the district’s K-12 Math/Science Instructional Coach, middle school science and language arts teacher at Pioneer Middle School and started her career as a classroom teacher at Fiegel Elementary.
Douglas holds a Bachelors’ Degree from the University of Michigan, a Masters’ Degree from Eastern Michigan and earned certification in K-12 Administration after completing the MASSP Path to Leadership Program.
Please join us in congratulating Jan on her new role as Bentley’s Principal.
