Cathy Williams Takes on Her Next Challenge as District Curriculum Coordinator

Cathy Williams loves a good challenge.   Throughout her career as a teacher and administrator she has sought new experiences and responsibilities in order to better serve her students.  After spending more than 10 years as a principal, the veteran administrator has accepted a new position as the district’s Curriculum Coordinator for K-12 Mathematics and K-5 Visual and Performing Arts.

Williams has spent nearly her entire 25 year career with the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools.  Her first 13 years at P-CCS were spent as a kindergarten and first grade teacher at Farrand and Eriksson Elementary Schools.  She then earned the role of assistant principal at Workman Elementary before heading to Bedford Elementary in Dearborn Heights to become principal.  Just two years later she returned to Plymouth-Canton to be the principal at Bird Elementary.

Williams holds a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Eastern Michigan University, a Master’s degree from Chapman University in curriculum and instruction, a graduate certificate in early reading from the University of Colorado and an Education Specialist degree in school administration from Oakland University.

Please join us in congratulating Cathy on her new job with the district.
