Preschool programs available for children who will be 4 years old by Sept. 1* of the current school year.

Half Day Programs

This kindergarten readiness preschool option offers inquiry-based learning in an exploratory program where children use the materials in the classroom to explore and discover. Classes meet from September through early-June. There are morning and afternoon sessions available.

Children must be 4 years old by September 1* and MUST be toilet-trained.
There are 18 preschool students per two staff members (ratio 9:1).  Staff are highly qualified teachers and experienced paraprofessionals.

Kiddie Kampus The Canton High School Kiddie Kampus program includes involvement with high school students enrolled in a Child Development course. High school students will have supervised interaction with children in the classroom on a daily basis. This program has been a P-CCS preschool option for more than 20 years.

The school day program is designed to offer developmentally appropriate instruction during the course of a regular 7 hour school day.

Hours:  Monday - Thursday 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.
Breakfast and snack provided. Lunch may be purchased or provided by parent. 

Children must be 4 years old by Sept 1 and must be toilet trained.

Full Day Programs

The Early Childhood department is excited to  offer full day preschool with before and after care for 4-year-old children. (up to 11 hours). These classes are available from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.  2-5 days per week; breakfast and snack provided. Lunch may be purchased or provided by parent. 

Children must be 4 years old by Sept 1 and must be toilet trained.

Great start readiness text logo

Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP)

4 days/week (8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.) (if eligible)

The 4-year-old Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is a free 4-year-old school day preschool program funded by the State of Michigan.  Classes run Monday through Thursday 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Families must meet income guidelines to qualify. Additional risk factors may apply.

If you are selecting the 4-year-old GSRP Program, you will need a copy of your most recent 1040 tax form with the registration paperwork. Selection is based on federal income guidelines using your 1040 Tax form (CANNOT USE W-2 forms), along with at least one other risk factor.  Parents must attend a screening appointment to determine eligibility.   Screenings for the 4-year-old GSRP program will take place in mid-May. Families should indicate interest in this program by completing the waiting list and select GSRP.
