Bird Elementary School Back to School News and Information
Please call the school office at (734) 416-3130 to schedule an appointment to register a student. Registration requirements and forms can be found on the district website on our Registration Page. This line will be checked periodically throughout July and we will contact parents to make appointments for registration.
The office will be closed Friday, July 20 through July 27, 2018.
Beginning July 30, the office will be open Monday - Friday from 9:30 am until 2:00 pm or by appointment. As always, feel free to call (734) 416-3130 or email Theresa.Pawczuk@pccsk12.com with any questions
New Family Tour:
If you have recently moved into the Bird attendance area and have not toured our school, Mrs. Williams will have a new family tour on Wednesday, August 22 at 2:30 pm.
Student placements will be emailed on or around August 27. Parents are encouraged to review their information on the MISTAR ParentPortal site. We will use the email you have on file. You will also be able to retrieve the information regarding placement on August 28 by checking in the ParentPortal.
Will be announced in the P-CCS Newsline publication sent to families registered in P-CCS district in mid-August.
First Day of School:
The first day of school is Tuesday, September 4, 2018. This is a half-day of school. School will begin at 8:48 a.m. and students will be dismissed at 11:53 p.m. The dismissal time for a full day of school is 3:55 pm. If your child is going to be absent, please call our attendance line at 734-416-3100 ext 2 prior to 9:00 a.m.
Parents should make every effort to be sure their child is riding their assigned bus to and from school during the first week of school. Details regarding student line-up procedures (while waiting for the bell) will be uploaded to our website closer to the start of the school year.
Emergency cards will be sent home with students by the first day and should be returned on the following day. Parents are encouraged to check and revise, if necessary, the pre-printed information on their child's emergency card.
Medication for students who require medication during the school day should be arranged prior to the start of the school year. More information is available regarding Medication Use on our district website. This includes over the counter medication. Written authorization from a physician must accompany the medication. Please call the school office if you have questions regarding the handling of medications.
Bird School Open House:
Will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
