Missed Bus Procedure

If a Discovery Middle School student misses their home bound bus, they should follow the listed procedure:
  1. Find an adult immediately! We have staff positioned around the bus loop to assist students with transportation.
  2. If the student can’t find an adult they should proceed to the main office.

The Discovery Middle School staff will make every effort to assist students to ensure safe transportation.

Bus Passes

Bus Passes are required by any student who wishes to ride any bus other than their regularly scheduled bus. Bus Passes are available in the front office or can be downloaded here.

Office Telephone Usage

Telephones in the offices are for school business. Due to the disruption caused, students will not be called from classes to take telephone calls. Only emergency messages will be given to students. Students will not be allowed to use these phones unless they are conducting school business or in the case of an emergency. Forgotten books, lunch or lunch money,  homework, instruments, etc. do not constitute an emergency.

Arrangements regarding after-school activities need to be made before arriving at school. If a student forgets their homework, musical instrument, or any other article they need for school and have called someone to bring it to school, it is their responsibility to check with the Main Office to see if it has arrived.

This practice eliminates interrupting classes to locate students. Change of transportation messages must be called in to the office prior to 2:30 p.m. at 734-416-2883 in order to ensure your student receives that message before the end of the school day.
