Summer Food Service Program Meet Up and Eat Up 

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) was created to ensure that children in lower-income areas could continue tomeet up and eat up 5-28-18 receive nutritious meals during long school vacations, when they do not have access to the National School Lunch or School Breakfast Programs. The SFSP, also known as Meet Up and Eat Up, is operated at the local level by program Sponsors and is administered in Michigan by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE), Office of Health and Nutrition Services.

We believe that children who learn to make healthy food choices and be physically active at school will continue these habits into adulthood.

  • A wider variety of fruits and vegetables, including dark green and orange
  • vegetables, dry beans and peas, and fresh fruits
  • Frequent use of whole‐grain products
  • Low‐fat or fat‐free milk

  1. Complete the two-page form above.
  2. Completed applications can either be turned in to the cafeteria manager at each building, or mailed to:

  3. The P-CCS Food Services department will contact, in writing, the parent/guardian based on the U.S. Mail address listed in Zangle Parent Connection. The letter will include additional contact information if there are questions.

Nutrition Services Meal Charging Policy

The purpose of having a meal charging policy is to establish consistent clear meal account procedures throughout the district. There is a fine line between considering the fiscal integrity of the district and the solvency of the food service program while also meeting the nutritional needs of students. 


  • To ensure that students have a healthy meal and that no child goes hungry.
  • To treat all students with dignity and confidentiality in the serving line.
  • To foster clear positive communication among staff, administrators, teachers, students and parent/guardian.
  • To establish fair practices that can be used consistently throughout the district regarding meal charges and the collection of charges.
  • To encourage parent/guardian to assume the responsibility of meal payments and to promote self‐responsibility of their child/student.
