P-CEP Team Places Second in Governor's Cyber Challenge!
- School NameP-CEP
For the second year in a row P-CEP students enrolled in Mr. (Scott) Obsniuk's Cybersecurity class have participated in the Governor's High School Cyber Challenge. Seniors Diana Randall and Andy Ealovega along with junior Brian Mulka (or team "Bright Pigs" as they prefer to be known) placed 2nd out of 217 teams and over 600 students who competed in the challenge statewide.
The competition began at the end of September as the students worked on answering sets of information security based questions on four consecutive days to complete round one of the competition. Only the top ten teams were invited to round two to compete in a "Capture the Flag" style competition testing their cybersecurity, networking, and programming skills.
Diana, Andy, and Brian's performance earned themselves some cool swag, a trophy, and stage time with Governor Gretchen Whitmer at the North American International Cyber Summit in front of a crowd of hundreds of cybersecurity professionals.
