Home Learning Highlight for May 20, 2020
Liberty Middle School Social Studies

Liberty Middle School’s Social Studies teacher Bryan Boyd is a student favorite because he brings his lively personality to the classroom everyday, making learning fun and informative. So nobody was surprised when Boyd found a way to deliver his lessons via video with the same level of fun and information.

Boyd and WashingtonStudents in Boyd’s eighth grade social studies class are learning about some of the most influential people in history and Boyd is delivering his message with segments such as “Today in History” and “Time Machine Tuesdays,” His videos introduce students to historical figures such George Washington, Benito Mussolini and more. Since Boyd is in home quarantine, his wife and children help him as actors in the skits. Together, they create some hysterical videos that will certainly instill memorable information in his students.

Boyd’s work is just one example of the creative teaching styles Plymouth-Canton Community Schools educators are using to help students learn at home.
