Nurturing Little Minds
Mission
Plymouth-Canton Community Schools and its Department of Student and Family Engagement are supporting and placing a specific focus on closing achievement gaps that exist among children by the start of kindergarten. The Birth through 5 program, ‘Nurturing Little Minds,’ aims to provide parents and caregivers with resources specific to helping each child reach their full potential. To accomplish this, we will be focusing on three key areas: The Basics, Family Academies and Parenting Resources.
What is Nurturing Little Minds?
Nurturing Little Minds is a program geared towards parents/guardians with children ages Birth through 5 years old. There are 3 components of the program: to learn The Basics, find Resources, and provide Family Academies that provide learning opportunities for parents and guardians of children birth to 5.
What’s the story behind Nurturing Little Minds? Why was it developed?
Nurturing Little Minds was created in response to the achievement gap that exists among children when entering kindergarten. The program is designed to educate families through experiences that strengthen connectedness.
Why (should I use) Nurturing Little Minds? Or be a part of this program?
As parents/guardians, we are always looking to improve our practices and help our child(ren) reach their full potential. Nurturing Little Minds provides parents and guardians tools, knowledge, and framework that can be applied to support our child(ren)’s growth during the important years of brain development from birth to age five.
