Plymouth-Canton Community Schools uses the ALICE active shooter response training model to provide all P-CCS staff members with annual refresher training. The following link provides additional information on ALICE training.

School Safety Drills

Plymouth-Canton Community Schools conducts annual school safety drills in accordance with Michigan Public Act 207 of 1941. 

School Safety Drills as of October 25, 2024

Required School Safety Drills

• Fire Drills (Minimum: 5 total)

  • At least 3 fire drills before December 1
  • At least 2 fire drills on or after December 1

• Lockdown Drills (Minimum: 3 total)

  • At least 1 lockdown drill before December 1
  • At least 2 lockdown drills after January 1

• Severe Weather Drills (Minimum: 2 total)

  • At least 1 severe weather drill must be scheduled in March

• Additional Requirement:

  • At least one of the above drills must take place during non-instructional time (e.g., passing time, lunch, or recess)
