P-CCS Hosa Students Earn State Honors, Advance to International Competition
P-CCS HOSA STUDENTS EARN STATE HONORS, ADVANCE TO INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION
PLYMOUTH, MI — Plymouth-Canton Community Schools (P-CCS) is celebrating the outstanding achievements of middle and high school students across the district who are members of Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) following a strong performance at the organization’s State Leadership Conferences held in Traverse City and Farmington, Michigan.
“I want to congratulate all of our talented students on their outstanding accomplishments at the HOSA State Leadership Conferences and their hard work throughout the year to prepare for competition,” said Jen Curry, P-CCS Chief Academic Officer. “Their success highlights the exceptional STEM learning opportunities available to our students as we prepare them for careers in the healthcare field and beyond.”
The Plymouth-Canton Educational Park (P-CEP) HOSA chapter continued its tradition of excellence, with 178 of its 350 members qualifying for the state competition. Students competed in a wide range of events, including hands-on disciplines such as pharmacology and occupational therapy, as well as academic competitions like medical math, debate, public health awareness campaigns, and presentations on global health disparities.
P-CEP was also recognized as the third-largest HOSA chapter in Michigan and received the Spirit Award, which honors the most supportive and engaged school at the conference.
Of the 178 state qualifiers, 55 students placed in the top eight in their respective events, and 34 students earned top-three finishes, qualifying for the HOSA International Leadership Conference.

Kush Patel, Aekam Guron, Maaz Sajjad, Afsheen Mogal, Maansi Patel, Arya Patel, Diksha Patel, Roshni Misra, Ishan Karkare, Armaan Grewal, Dilpreet Ratol, Aarush Kumar, Samendu Manoj, Aarush Goli, Hassan Raza, Jafer Arshad, Aariz Yusuf, Milani Rivera, Vasmitha Karthikeyan, Navya Rathor, Misha Srinivasan, Maia Rivera, Yaalvizhi Rama Paraneedharan, Shiven Sharma, Sachiin Kumar, Shloak Kosna, Tirth Vaidhya, Vincent Lin, Aminah Akbari, Alina Ahmed, Ayana Ahmed, Aroush Aamer, Cataleya McCauley, and Lara Ciocoiu.
At the middle school level, three students from East Middle School also qualified for international competition, marking the first time in district history that middle school students reached the international event:
- Pratyushi Jain (Life-Threatening Situations)
- Medhini Shyam (Medical Terminology)
- Meher Basu (Speech)
