Prosecutor Worthy School Threat Letter 2025

Plymouth-Canton Community Schools Globally Focused. Locally Connected.

As we begin the school year, we would like to ask parents to talk to their student(s) about the dangers of being involved with making threats. We want to emphasize to our students the serious consequences that arise from spreading threats - whether real or false - through social media or other forms of communication. Students who engage in this type of behavior face both legal and school disciplinary consequences. To support our students in making the best decisions, please work in partnership with us to help remind your student(s):

  • It is never appropriate to joke about weapons or make a claim of violence within a school setting.

  • If you hear or see something that causes concern to you, the first step is to contact an adult.  If it is after school hours, the best person to contact is local law enforcement or OK2SAY.  These agencies will notify the school.

  • If you share a concerning item electronically or otherwise with other students, you incite fear and possibly chaos that distracts from the learning/business of the school.

  • After reporting an issue to an adult, please refrain from discussing it with other students.  If you feel the need to talk, our counselors and school staff are available to provide support.
