Rania Hammoud Returns to Discovery Middle School as Assistant Principal

Plymouth-Canton Community Schools is pleased to announce that Rania Hammoud has been named the new Assistant Principal at Discovery Middle School — the very place where she began her career in education.

Hammoud brings a wealth of experience and a strong record of success in educational leadership. Most recently she served as the K–12 Curriculum Coordinator for Social Studies, World Language, and School Climate for P-CCS. In this role she played a key part in advancing innovative instructional strategies, implementing culturally responsive curricula, and leading impactful professional learning for educators across the district.

From 2009 to 2013, Hammoud served as a dedicated Social Studies teacher at Discovery, building meaningful connections with students and staff. She also served as an Assistant Principal at West Middle School from 2013 to 2018, where she played a key role in supporting academic achievement, implementing school-wide initiatives, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Her academic background includes an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Leadership from Oakland University, a Master of Arts in Education from Michigan State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Wayne State University. She also holds K–12 Administrator Certification and multiple teaching endorsements at both the elementary and secondary levels.
