Welcome Back from Superintendent Merritt

Plymouth-Canton Community Schools Globally Focused. Locally Connected.

August 27, 2025

Dear P-CCS Students and Families,

Welcome to the 2025–26 school year! I hope your summer was filled with rest, fun, and memorable moments with loved ones. Our dedicated staff has been working diligently to prepare our schools for another successful year, and we are so excited to welcome you and your student(s) back next Tuesday, September 2!

Last year was truly remarkable for our school community. We continued to receive recognition across the state and beyond for the outstanding achievements of our students and staff. Our schools and programs earned accolades in academics, the arts, athletics, and more. These accomplishments reflect the hard work and commitment of our entire P-CCS family, and we’re ready to build on that momentum this year.

Over the summer, many of our schools saw continued upgrades and improvements thanks to the community’s support of the 2020 Bond initiative. From refreshed learning spaces to enhanced safety and technology features, these investments are helping us create modern, student-centered environments across the district. You’ll also notice some new faces throughout our buildings. We’ve welcomed exceptional new teachers, support staff, and administrators who are eager to join the P-CCS tradition of excellence.

As always, the start of the school year brings a sense of energy and renewal. Fall remains my favorite time of year. It’s a season of fresh beginnings, spirited school events, and endless possibilities. I can’t wait to see our students back in classrooms, on the stage, on the field, and engaged in all the opportunities that make P-CCS such a special place to learn and grow.

As we count down the final days of summer recess, I encourage you to soak in the remaining sunshine and prepare for an exciting year ahead. Thank you for entrusting us with your student’s education. We are committed to giving them our very best every single day.

Yours in Learning,

Dr. Monica L. Merritt
